Boston Winery
June 27, 2007
Curious about winemaking but don't have a vineyard nearby to partake?
Bostonians now have a local option in the Boston Winery.
The brainchild of Ralph Bruno - owner of Italian restaurant Venezia next door - this 12,000 square foot facility offers individuals and groups the chance to purchase a barrel of wine and take part in as much (or as little) of the winemaking process as they choose (even grape crushing!).
Membership seems steep at $2650-$6000, but a deal when you consider you're getting a BARREL'S worth, plus all of the service, education, storage, and supplies (custom labels!). There are also future plans for members-only dinners and wine trips.
The Winery is taking orders now for the 2007 growing season.
