Bruins, Red Sox, and Monkeys

Last weekend was a busy one in Boston.

On Saturday, I and over a million of my closest friends cheered on the Boston Bruins during their Stanley Cup Victory Parade, and on Sunday, a slightly smaller crowd convened in the Fenway for the 6th Annual Helping Hands Red Sox Fundraiser (which this year included a special appearance by - you guessed it - the Boston Bruins).

Both days were loads of fun, and the latter raised money for an amazing organization.

Weekend Happenings

There are lots of things happening in Charlestown this weekend!

First, the 5th Annual Charlestown Open Market, featuring some of my favorite local businesses like Haven, Joy of Old, Charlestown Yoga, Olivia Browning, and Townie Sportswear. Look for them plus several others set up between West School and Austin streets between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Haven is actually having a summer pop-up event all weekend to showcase a slew of new inventory; it starts with a Happy Hour today at 4.

All day Saturday there'll be historic re-enactments in Monument Square, including 18th Century arms & musket demonstrations (Sarah Palin surely would enjoy it).

And then on Sunday it's the annual Bunker Hill Day Parade and 43rd annual Battle of Bunker Hill Road Race. This is actually a really fun parade; take a look at my photos from year's past.

Hope to see you - and Tom Menino - around town this weekend!
